Soccer dominates Wesleyan at home

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem soccer team cruised to victory with an 8-1 victory against Wesleyan in GSAC play. Brooke Bukas had 2 goals and an assist in the win. Salem improves to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the Great South.

Sydney Priest got the scoring started in the 7th minute on a Bukas assist. Bukas scored the next two goals over the next 5 minutes to put Salem up 3-0 in the first 11 minutes. Tarryn Johnson had an assist on the 3rd goal. Sawyer Ferguson scored in the 32nd minute. Wesleyan got one back in the 43rd minute, but Kaci McDaniel scored a minute later to give Salem a 5-1 lead at half. 

Jordan Lanier scored in the 60th minute and Johnson converted a penalty kick one minute later. Taylor Norman finished off the scoring for Salem. The Spirits out-shot Wesleyan 26-4 and they had a 10-0 corner kick advantage.

Salem returns to action Monday when they host Johnson in non-conference action at 4:00.
