Soccer set to celebrate seniors on Saturday

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team will celebrate its five seniors this Saturday in their last home regular season match. The Spirits will host conference rival, Agnes Scott, at 2:00. Salem is currently 13-3 overall and 3-0 in the Great South.

This excellent group of seniors has an overall record of 55-15-4, and they are just three wins from having the most wins in Salem history of any graduating class. To date, they have won two Great South Regular Season Titles, and one GSAC Tournament Title.

Sawyer Ferguson-Sawyer is from Billings, MT. She is a two-year captain. She is the all-time leading goal-scorer in Salem history with 39 goals and the all-time points leader with 97 points. She is a two-time all-conference member, two-time GSAC All-Academic and she was selected to the NSCAA All-Academic Region Team last year. She is majoring in biochemistry with a minor in mathematics. She plans to go to dental school next year.

Nataly Mojica-Nataly is from Dallas, TX. She is a captain this season. She is a three-time GSAC All-Conference member and a two-time GSAC All-Academic member. She is currently second in the GSAC this season with 21 points. She is a four-year starter in the midfield. Nataly is a triple major in international business, economics, and Spanish. She plans to pursue a master's degree in economic human development. 

Taylor Norman-Taylor is from Fairfax, VA. She is a captain this season. Taylor is a three-time GSAC All-Conference member and a one-time GSAC All-Academic member. She is currently third all-time in points at Salem with 61 points. She is a four-year starter in the midfield. Taylor is an interior design major. She plans to attend grad school in design.

Liz Smetana-Liz is from Harvard, MA. She is a captain this season. Liz is a four-year letter winner. She scored a goal this year at Washington Adventist and she scored once last year. She is majoring in communications. Liz plans to hopefully have one of her communications and marketing internships turn into a full-time job in the area. 

Stephanie Verdi-Stephanie is from High Point, NC. She is a four-year letter winner for the soccer team. Stephanie had an assist against Johnson this year. She is also a two-time GSAC All-Academic member. Stephanie runs cross country for Salem, where she is our top runner. She is an elementary education and mathematics major. She plans to teach at a local school.
