ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the fall sports Players of the Week for all contests played October 27 – November 2 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Taylor Norman captured Women's Soccer Player of the Week while Bonnie Derks of Agnes Scott won Volleyball Player of the Week.
GSAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week – Taylor Norman of Salem
Taylor Norman, a senior from Fairfax, VA, had a great week as she helped lead Salem to their 16th win with a 2-0 week. Joined with her fellow seniors, Norman broke the all-time win's record by a class at Salem as they picked up their 58th win over the weekend. She scored a goal and had an assist against Trinity on Saturday. She added a goal in a win against Pine Manor on Sunday for five points this weekend.
GSAC Volleyball Player of the Week – Bonnie Derks of Agnes Scott
First year student Bonnie Derks from Agnes Scott College helped the Scotties to a 2-2 week, hitting .438 with 8 kills against Wesleyan in a straight-sets win for the Scotties. She also registered 5 digs in the Wesleyan match.
