Thomas Moore promoted to full-time soccer assistant

Winston-Salem, NC-Thomas Moore has been promoted to a full-time soccer assistant coach at Salem College for the 2015-16 season. Moore will be entering his fourth year with the program. During his time as a part-time coach, the Spirits have gone 49-12-1 and won three straight Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) regular season titles and two GSAC tournaments.

"I think having Coach Moore on as a full-time assistant will be a major asset as we complete our last year in the GSAC, and enter USA South play in 2016," said Head Coach Jay Callahan. "He will now have a more active role as a practice and game planner, and as a recruiter for our program."

Moore was also recently hired as the varsity head women's coach at his alma mater of R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem. High school soccer in North Carolina competes in the spring, which is the non-traditional season for the Spirits.

As part of his new position, Moore will also pursue his Masters of Education in the Salem College Graduate School of Education. He will be a part-time history teacher at Reynolds this year.

"Coach Moore will help us as we continue to raise our expectations as a program," said Coach Callahan. "The team is already very familiar with him as a coach, and that will help as he transitions into a much more active role."
