Soccer falls 1-0 at Meredith

Raleigh, NC-The Salem College soccer team couldn't overcome a shaky first 17 minutes and dropped their first road match 1-0 to Meredith. In a very even match, a set-piece goal by Megan Luke in the 17th minute was the difference. Salem falls to 1-1, while Meredith is also 1-1.

After the goal, Salem slowly began to take over the match. Over the last 25 minutes, the Spirits mounted a heavy attack that was turned away by Meredith's defense or missed shots. Maddie Crumpton led Salem with 3 shots.

Meredith held a 14-11 shot advantage, but both team had 5 shots on goal. Paige Ketchum finished with 4 saves.

Salem returns back to Meredith tomorrow to take on Hollins at 2:15.
