Soccer wins against Hollins

Raleigh, NC-The Salem College soccer team had eight players score goals in an 10-0 win against Hollins at the Meredith Classic. Tarryn Johnson and Sydney Priest each scored twice and had an assist. Hannah Huskey, Jordan Lanier, and Grace Young were selected to the All-Meredith Classic Team. The Spirits are now 2-1 overall, while Hollins falls to 0-2.

Brooke Bukas got the scoring started in the 10th minute on an assist by Lanier. Johnson scored twice in a row off assists by Hannah Huskey and Maddie Crumpton. Johnson assisted Lanier on a goal to make it 4-0 in the 26th minute. Kylie Dillow scored next, with Priest finishing off the first half scoring on an assist by Fretwell.

Huskey scored on a Priest corner kick to start the second half. Priest scored a couple minutes later. Leigh McDonald scored her first collegiate goal on another assist by Fretwell. Crumpton finished off the scoring in the 56th minute. Paige Ketchum and Sarah Slates split time in goal for the shut-out. 

Salem returns home this weekend when they host NC Wesleyan and Guilford.
