Salem wins Salem Soccer Classic

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team won the 2015 Salem Soccer Classic with a 4-1 win over Guilford. The Spirits also defeated NC Wesleyan on Saturday 2-0. Jordan Lanier scored a goal and had an assist in the win against Guilford. Salem improves to 4-1, while Guilford falls to 2-2-1. 

Lanier started the scoring in the 12th minute on an assist by Morgan Canepa. Brooke Bukas scored two minutes later to give Salem a commanding lead early in the match.

Guilford got a goal back early in the 50th minute on an own goal by Salem. Martha Santos scored her first collegiate goal in the 58th minute on a pass by Hannah Huskey. Maddie Crumpton finished the scoring in the 67th minute. Salem held a 20-10 shot advantage.

The Spirits will travel to Lynchburg on Wednesday at 4:00.
