Decatur, GA-The Salem College soccer team picked up an important road conference win as they defeated Agnes Scott 1-0. Jasmine Romero's goal in the 7th minute was all Salem would need for the win. The Spirits improve to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the Great South, while Agnes Scott falls to 1-1 and 4-7.
Romero struck a shot into the upper corner from outside of the eigthteen to give Salem an early lead. They were unable to capitalize on the rest of their opportunities throughout the game. The Spirits held a 17-9 shot advantage and 5-1 corner kick advantage. Kimmi Templeton finished with 5 saves to earn the shutout.
The Spirits return to the road this weekend as they play two GSAC games at Wesleyan in Macon, GA.
