Heather Huffman selected as GSAC Soccer Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the fall sports Players of the Week for events competed October 19 – 25 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Heather Huffman captured the soccer award, Agnes Scott's Brianna Vannoy collected the volleyball prize and the Scotties' Faridah Nalunkuuma won cross country Runner of the Week.

GSAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week – Heather Huffman of Salem

Heather Huffman, a senior defender, helped lead Salem to their fourth-straight Great South Regular Season Championship. She was a vital part in a 5-1 home win against Agnes Scott to clinch the title. Playing in her senior game, Huffman once again helped lead the Salem defense as the team improved to 12-2.

 

GSAC Volleyball Player of the Week – Brianna Vannoy of Agnes Scott

In three matches last week, the senior middle hitter led the Scotties on the court by contributing in several key areas.  In the Scotties GSAC regular season clinching win over Salem College, Vannoy hit .600 while also logging 2 assists, 2 blocks (1 solo and one block assist), and also altered several attacks with her blocking presence.  For the week, she contributed in almost every category, logging 3 service aces, 3 assists, 5 digs, 4 blocks, while hitting .210 for the week.
