Soccer unloads in 10-0 win against LaGrange

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team scored early and often in a 10-0 USA South conference win against LaGrange today. Maddie Crumpton, Jordan Lanier, and Chaniece Moss all scored twice for Salem, who held an 8-0 lead at the half. Salem improves to 8-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the USA South, while LaGrange drops to 1-7-1 and 0-4-1. 

Crumpton scored in the fourth minute and Salem went on to score five goals in the first twenty minutes in the win. Crumpton scored one more, while Lanier had two and Moss had two in the first half. Courtney Chaplin also scored in the first for her first career goal, and Hope Morrison added her first career goal a few minutes later.

Salem started fast in the second half as Tarryn Johnson scored just two minutes in to make it 9-0. Kimmi Templeton finished the scoring for Salem midway through the second half. Hannah Wagner and Templeton combined for the shutout. Lanier, Morrison, Crumpton, and Johnson were joined by Morgan Canepa, Martha Santos, Emily MacNear, Hannah Huskey, Kylie Dillow, and Kim Sephaphathi with assists.

The Spirits host Huntingdon tomorrow at 2:00 in another important USA South match.
