Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team won their home opener against Agnes Scott. The Spirits scored 5 first half goals including a hat trick by Jordan Lanier. The 5-0 victory improves Salem to 2-1 overall.

Martha Santos got the scoring started early off an assist by Mary Ormsby in the 8th minute. Lanier scored four minutes later on an assist by Brooke Bukas, and then during the 23rd minute off another assist by Bukas. She rounded out her second career hat trick 2 minutes later. Hope Morrison finished the scoring late in the half.

Hannah Bullock and Hannah Wagnes split time in goal for the shutout. Salem held a 27-4 shot advantage and a 6-1 corner kick advantage.

Salem will return to action Sunday at home against Eastern Mennonite.
