Soccer stays undefeated in USA South with win against Ferrum

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team defeated Ferrum 3-0 yesterday to remain undefeated in USA South play. The Spirits scored a goal in the first and two goals in the second half for the win. Salem is now 6-0 against USA South East competition and 12-2 overall, while Ferrum drops to 2-2 and 7-6 overall.

Sydney Priest got the scoring started in the 23rd minute from an assist by Mary Ormsby. Brooke Bukas scored the second Salem goal in the 79th minute, and Chaniece Moss capped off the scoring in the 87th minute on another assist by Ormsby.

Salem out shot Ferrum 20-4 for the game, and had a 5-2 corner kick advantage. Hannah Wagner earned the shutout with 3 saves. 

The Spirits return to the road this weekend to play at North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday at 4:00.
