Late First Half Goal Gives Ferrum the Edge Over Salem

Ferrum, Va.– The Salem College soccer team moved to 1-3 after a 1-0 loss to a an unbeaten Ferrum team.

First Half

Salem started off the contest firing with two shots in the opening 10-minutes as Ellie Montes and Maddie Crumpton would each miss wide left. With two-minutes remaining in the first half, Ferrum would find the net for the 1-0 lead. 

Second Half

Hope Morrison would pepper the post with a shot in the early minutes of the second half. The Panthers would send in a corner kick, but Hannah Wagner held strong keeping the ball out of the net for the duration of the game. In the final three-minutes Alyssa Denkovich booted a corner kick, but no shot was taken. The Panthers would take the win in the first 1-0.

Salem Standouts

 

Crumpton had three shots against the Panthers.
