2019-20 MEET-BY-MEET RESULTS

FIRST YEAR (2019-20): Joined the swim team after completing the 2019 soccer season … began the season at the Guilford / Sweet Briar Dual (Nov. 16, 2019), finishing fifth in the 50 freestyle (34.70) and sixth in the 100 backstroke (1:46.69) … claimed a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:312.73) at the Guilford / Sweet Briar Dual (Nov. 16) along with teammates Corrin Shores, Amy Stutzer, and Olivia Kleven … enjoyed the first Top-3 finish of her career in the Greensboro / Virginia Wesleyan Dual (Dec. 7), placing third in the 100 backstroke (1:46.56) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:22.42) posted a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:33.46) at the Greensboro / Virginia Wesleyan Dual (Dec. 7) with teammates Rachel Black, Olivia Kleven and Amy Stutzer at her side … raced in three events in a meet that included William Peace / Warren Wilson / Bridgewater (Jan. 11) … placed sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:22.98) versus William Peace / Warren Wilson / Bridgewater … touched the wall eighth in both the 50 freestyle (36.10) and 100 backstroke (1:42.16) when facing off against William Peace / Warren Wilson / Bridgewater … had a solid performance at the Guilford / Greensboro Dual (Jan. 18), ending the 200 medley relay in second alongside teammates Corrin Shores, Olivia Kleven and Amy Stutzer (2:30.50) … closed the 100 backstroke in fourth-place (1:37.58) and the 50 freestyle in fifth (35.32) at the Guilford / Greensboro Dual (Jan. 18) … wrapped up the season with a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle (35.41) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:38.62) at the Pfeiffer Dual (Feb. 1) … repeated a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, alongside Corrin Shores, Allison Wakefield and Olivia Kleven against the Falcons (Feb. 1) in a time of 2:06.61.

PREP: Graduated from Franklinton High School in 2019 … a four-sport athlete that competed in cross country, indoor / outdoor track and field, basketball and soccer … competed in cross country (2015-18) for coach Clennie Wilkins … was a member of track and field team (2015-18) for coaches Clennie Wilkins and Benjamin Snelling … played basketball (2015-17) under direction of coach Matthew Hockaday … a soccer (2015-19) standout under head coach Jared Miller … named as an All-Conference performer in soccer following her junior and senior season … named Most Valuable Player in consecutive seasons for soccer as a junior and senior … an All-Region performer in her senior campaign … received Rookie of the Year honors at conclusion of freshman slate.

PERSONAL: Rachel Black … daughter of Sandy and Steven Black … born on February 4, 2001 … member of National Honor Society, serving as the President of National Honor Society … active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club (Vice President), Project Unify, Relay for Life … served as Student Body President, Red Ram Mentor and as a Student Booster … was on A/B honor roll each semester … played Club Soccer for East Wake Soccer Association (2011-14) head coach Robbie Bird.
