Tennis loses close battle with Emory and Henry

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team lost a close battle with Emory and Henry in their first match of the season. Deanna Wilkins (Forbush, NC) picked up two wins for the Spirits. Salem is now 0-1 for the season.
"We played a very good Emory and Henry team today," said Head Coach Kevin Fleck. "It was great for our players to compete against highly ranked players to see what we need to work on to get to that level."
"I feel that our team played okay today considering the lack of outdoor practice we had last week due to the weather," said Fleck. "I was pleased to see DeAnna come through with a victory in a toughly fought match by both players. I'm excited about the improvements we will make over the weeks to come. We are looking forward to our matches this weekend against Winston-Salem State and William Peace."
