Tennis picks up win against Lynchburg

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team picked up their first win of 2015 in dominating fashion. They cruised to an 8-1 win at home against Lynchburg. The Spirits swept doubles, and were close to sweeping singles. 

"We had a great match today," said Head Coach Kevin Fleck. "I feel that all positions played well and improved from last week."

Ashley Koehler, Deanna Wilkins, Ayla Pruitt, Kerri Morgan, and Ayla Pruitt swept both doubles and singles action. Andrea Akers and Allie Watkins picked up wins in doubles, and Samantha Story earned a win at #5 singles.

Coach Fleck said, "Our doubles teams did a great job playing aggressively and dictating the points at the net. Our singles matches had great focus and discipline. We look forward to our spring break away matches March 27-29."
The Spirits will take on Chowan and Virginia Wesleyan on spring break.
