Tennis falls to rivals from Agnes Scott

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team lost a very close battle with Great South rivals Agnes Scott, 6-3. Kerri Morgan won both her matches in a tight battle between both schools. Salem falls to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the Great South.

"Today was a challenging day for us," said Head Coach Kevin Fleck. "Even though we may not have played our best tennis as a team, I do give credit to Agnes Scott for playing well and getting through some difficult matches."

Morgan paired with Andrea Akers to pick up the only win for Salem in doubles action as they won 8-5 at #1 doubles. Morgan won at #3 signles, and DeAnna Wilkins won at #4 singles.

Coach Fleck said, "I'm excited about some of the inspiring matches we did have and how we can build on that growth throughout the team.  I feel that we learned a lot about how to play under different circumstances and what we need to improve.  I'm ready for us to get back to practice this week and work on what we learned.  We are eagerly looking forward to playing them again next weekend."

The Spirits will return to action on Friday when they travel to Greensboro College.
