Macon, GA-The Salem College tennis team cruised to a 5-0 win over Mills from California in the Great South Semifinals at Wesleyan College. Kerri Morgan and Andrea Akers went to extra sets to win a very important #1 doubles match. The Spirits went 3-0 in doubles. Salem is now 8-7 for the season.
Ashley Koehler and Deanna Wilkins cruised to an 8-2 win at #2 doubles, while Ayla Pruitt and Allie Watkins won 8-4 at #3 doubles. Morgan won easily at #2 singles, and Koehler did the same at #3 singles. Those two victories during singles play were enough for Salem to advance. The rest of the singles matches were unfinished.
Salem will play Agnes Scott in the championship match.
