Atlanta, GA-The Salem College tennis team advanced to their second straight Great South Championship match, but Agnes Scott was too much for the Spirits. After taking a 2-1 lead in doubles, Agnes Scott was able to win the match 5-1 with 3 victories in singles action. The Spirits finish their season with an 8-8 overall record.
Andrea Akers and Kerri Morgan upset Agnes Scott in #1 doubles to give the Spirits a real shot after doubles play. Akers and Morgan won 9-7 against Claire and Anne Rinaldo. The Scotties won 8-2 in #2 doubles and 8-1 at #3 doubles.
The Scotties were able to win at #2, #4, and #6 singles action for the overall victory. The rest of the singles matches were unfinished, since the match had already reached a decision.
