Winston-Salem, NC-The first tennis match of the year was postponed midway through singles due to heavy rains. The Spirits were tied 1-1 with Guilford.

Head Coach Kevin Fleck said, "It was unfortunate that our match was rained out because we were having a great match so far. We got off to a slow start but began to gain the momentum a little before we had to stop all matches due to the weather.  Playing Guilford was a good experience because our players learned a lot from playing some unique styles that they have not yet faced in the past. We hope to find a day to finish the match but it is undetermined if we will be able to reschedule."

The Spirits will play their next match at William Peace this Saturday.
