Danville, VA-The Salem College tennis team fell in two matches over the weekend. In a USA South West Division match, Piedmont took down Salem 8-1 in Winston-Salem. The Spirits traveled to play Averett in Virginia and fell in a tight 5-4 match. The Spirits are now 4-4 overall. 

Makenna Mason had a strong weekend as she won at number two singles in both matches. She defeated her Piedmont opponent 6-4, 6-4. She won 6-0, 6-0 against Averett. She joined with Lindsey Young to win at number two doubles against Averett. Young and Grace Wilson also won their singles matches against Averett.

The Spirits play Bluefield College today.
