Tennis spends Fall working with ATANC

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis program has spent this Fall running clinics for Abilities Tennis Association of North Carolina. The mission of the Abilities Tennis (formerly Adaptive Tennis Association of North Carolina) is to offer tennis opportunities at all levels for individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state of North Carolina.

"We are the first college in the state to partner up with them and contribute to the development of their tennis skills," said Head Coach Ed Steele. "Our tennis team is having a great time and the students are having a lot of fun and are very excited to continue their tennis development."

The Spirits have hosted four clinics with ATANC and have one more at the end of October.

Coach Steele said, "we encourage the success and development of skills through games and hands on drills. The students are very excited to meet and work with our Spirits tennis team."
