Raleigh, NC-Christine Tillman (King, NC) was selected to the 2009 Meredith Volleyball Matchup All-Tournament Team. Tillman, a junior captain, led the Spirits to a 2-2 showing at the matchup. Salem won their first Great South Athletic Conference match against Agnes Scott as part of the tournament. Tillman led the team in kills and blocks on the weekend.

Tillman led the team with two blocks in the match against Agnes Scott. In the match against Meredith, Tillman led the Spirits with 15 kills, 16 digs, and 2 service aces. She had another strong match against Spelman with 16 kills, 14 digs, 3 service aces, and 1.5 blocks.
