Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team defeated Piedmont Baptist College in four sets tonight (25-13, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15). Christine Tillman (King, NC) had a dominant match with 18 kills, 5 blocks, and 7 digs. Salem improves to 5-12 on the season.

Salem took control in the first game when they stretched their lead from 10-6 to 20-10. Piedmont Baptist fought back to win the second game, but Salem was able to dominate the last two for the win. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) had 32 assists and 1 service ace. Khadija Layne (Dorchester, MA) had a strong match with 17 digs and 4 service aces. 

Allegra Thomson (Dalzell, SC) had 9 digs in the match. Lee Ann Holmes (Wilmington, OH) and Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) each had 8 digs for the Spirits.

Salem returns to action next Wednesday when they host Meredith College at 7:00.
