Volleyball defeats Spelman for the third time

Maryville, TN-The Salem College volleyball team defeated Spelman College (25-5, 25-21, 25-12) in convincing fashion in the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) quarterfinals. This was the third time that Salem defeated Spelman this season. Khadija Layne (Dorchester, MA) led the team with 14 digs. Salem improves to 11-18 on the season with the victory.

Christine Tillman (King, NC) had 11 kills, 7 digs, and 1 service ace. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) returned from a sickness that kept her out of the match against Guilford to lead the team with 15 set assists and four service aces. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) had a very strong serving match with 7 service aces, and she also had 7 kills.

Salem will play Maryville College in the GSAC semifinals.
