Volleyball defeats Spelman in three sets

Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College volleyball team defeated Spelman College in three sets today (25-11, 25-13, 25-23). The win gives Salem a 4-3 record in GSAC regular season action. Christine Tillman (King, NC) had a dominating match with 19 kills and 7 blocks. Salem improves to 8-17 overall on the season.

The Spirits were able to convinicingly win the first two sets, before holding off Spelman to win the third. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) had a balanced match with 6 kills and 3 service aces. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) finished the match with 5 digs and 30 assists. Latricia Maye (Vestavia Hills, AL) had 5 kills and 2 blocks, and Allegra Thomson (Dalzell, SC) had 6 kills.

Salem returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Piedmont Baptist College at 7:00.
