Volleyball drops two at Greensboro College Tournament

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College volleyball team lost two matches today in part of the Greensboro College Tournament. Salem lost to Guilford College in their first match (19-25, 17-25, 14-25), and to Randolph-Macon College (12-25, 15-25, 16-25). Christine Tillman (King, NC) and Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) each had 10 kills on the day. Salem falls to 3-6 for the season.

Tillman had 7 kills to lead the Spirits against the Quakers, and Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) had 18 assists in the match. Maher also led the team with 9 digs. Tillman also had 3 service aces against Guilford. 

Roppolo led the team against Randolph-Macon with 5 kills and 7 digs. Khadija Layne (Dorchester, MA) had a strong defensive match with 8 digs. Maher had 16 assists for the Spirits.

Salem returns to action tomorrow with two more matches in the Greensboro College Tourney. They will play the host school, and they will also have a GSAC match against Piedmont.
