Volleyball loses last regular season match at Guilford

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College volleyball team fell to Guilford College (11-25, 25-23, 13-25, 12-25) in their final regular season match. Salem will now get ready to head into the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) quarterfinals match against Spelman College. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee) stepped in for Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) to lead the Spirits with 22 set assists. Salem finishes the regular season with a 10-18 record, and Guilford improves to 12-14.

Salem struggled in the first set, but were able to fight back in the second set to tie the match at one set each. Guilford was able to pull out the next two sets for the match. Christine Tillman (King, NC) led the Spirits with 11 kills. Allegra Thomson (Dalzell, SC) had a strong match with 6 kills and 6 digs. Khadija Layne (Dorchester, MA) led the team with 13 digs, and Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) provided 12 digs for the Spirits.

Salem will take on Spelman at Maryville College on November 6th in the GSAC Tournament. Salem will be the number four seed, and Spelman is the number five seed. Salem is 2-0 this year against Spelman.
