Volleyball suffers loss at home against Meredith

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team lost at home tonight in three sets (17-25, 21-25, 21-25) to Meredith College. Latricia Maye (Vestavia Hills, AL) had a strong night with 4 kills and 2 blocks. Salem falls to 5-13, while Meredith improves to 11-12 on the season. 

The Spirits hung close in both the second and third sets, but the Avenging Angels were able to hold on to win both of those sets. Christine Tillman (King, NC) led the Spirits with 8 kills and 10 digs, and she also had 1 solo block and 4 assists. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) had 21 set assists on the night to go along with 1 kill and 5 digs. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) had the only service ace on the night for Salem, and she also had 10 digs.

Salem will return to action this weekend when they play three GSAC matches at Maryville against Huntingdon, LaGrange, and Maryville.
