Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball program is excited to announce the addition of Chelsea Leigh Jones who committed to attend Salem next fall. Jones had an excellent career as a setter for Coach Debbie Weaver at Alleghany High School in Sparta, NC. She also played club volleyball for Kent Phillips for the AVC-Black Ice.

Jones was selected to the all-conference team during her junior and senior seasons. She was selected as her team's most valuable player as a senior. Jones helped her team to back to back conference championships in 2008 and 2009, and to a district championship in 2009.

Jones also had a very successful academic career in high school. She won an English II Award and a Spanish I Award at Alleghany. Jones was a class secretary, a member of student council, a member of Beta Club, and she was in the National Technical Honor Society. She is the daughter of Jodi and Rick Jones, and plans to major in English with teaching licensure at Salem. 

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
