Pitt Community College's Perkins commits to play volleyball at Salem

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball program is excited to announce that Karen Lynn Perkins committed to attend Salem next fall. Perkins played outside hitter for Amy Hawkins at Dubuque High School in Iowa and for William Way at Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC. 

Perkins played varsity for four years at Dubuque and was awarded as the Most Valuable Player in the Swiss Valley Conference. She also played club volleyball for Team MOJO and for Courtmaster Volleyball Club in Iowa. 

She was involved in Key Club and Spanish Club at Dubuque. Perkins plans to major in Education and English at Salem. She is the daughter of Doreen Roe and David Perkins.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
