Tillman and Roppolo play volleyball in Italy and Croatia

Pula, Croatia-Two Salem College volleyball athletes competed for the United States Nfinity Team in the 2011 European Global Challenge. Christine Tillman (King, NC), former standout player for the Spirits and the new assistant coach for the team, and Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) were the two representatives from Salem on the team. They were the only NCAA Division III athletes to play for Team Nfinity, which finished in seventh out of twelve teams in the tournament.

Roppolo and Tillman competed on Nfinity with players from Lees-Mcrae, UNC-Greensboro, Illinois, and Texas-San Antonio. The team was coached by Eri Shultz and Dana Wall. Tillman and Roppolo were able to travel to Florence, Bologna, Venice, and they played the tournament in Pula, Croatia.

Nfinity was the third-place American team at the tournament. There were international teams from Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, and Romania. The team was the youngest American team on the tour.
