Volleyball drops two close home matches

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team lost two very close home matches in a tri-match yesterday. Salem lost in five sets against Hollins University (25-20, 25-22, 11-25, 19-25, 10-15). The Spirits returned to drop a match against Virginia Intermont College in four sets (25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 22-25). Keri Nolan (Calabash, NC) had a very strong day for the Spirits with 28 total kills. Salem falls to 3-7 on the season.

Christine Tillman (King, NC) contributed 21 total kills on the day. She also led the Spirits with 11 blocks in the two matches. Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) had 12 digs against Hollins, and Kassi Money (Elkin, NC) had 13 digs against Virginia Intermont. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) had 70 set assists on the day. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the Spirits with 6 service aces on the day. 

Salem returns to action on the 24th when they host Guilford College in a non-conference match.
