The Salem College Director of Athletics, Melissa Barrett, is pleased to announce that Dana Wall will become the third coach in the NCAA era of the Salem Volleyball Program. Wall will replace Amanda Ziemba, who resigned in May to spend more time with her family.

The Salem College volleyball team split a pair of Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) matches this weekend at home. The Spirits cruised to a 3-0 (25-4, 25-12, 25-10) victory against Wesleyan, before falling in a hard-fought match against Huntingdon 1-3 (25-17, 24-26, 16-25, 23-25). Salem finishes conference play in 7th place with a 1-6 conference record, and they are now 4-23 overall.

The Salem College volleyball team lost two Great South conference matches yesterday in Georgia. The Spirits lost to Spelman in the morning match, and to Agnes Scott in the afternoon match (20-25, 25-19, 17-25, 22-25). The two losses drop Salem to 0-5 in the Great South and to 3-20 overall.

Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) was selected to the Eastern Mennonite University All-Tournament team this past weekend. Roppolo led the Spirits with 23 kills in the four matches this weekend. She also led the Spirits with 48 digs.

The Salem College volleyball team lost its last three matches at the Eastern Mennonite University Volleyball Invitational. The Spirits lost to Catholic University yesterday afternoon in three sets (25-13, 25-18, 25-10). They lost to Mary Washington today (25-17, 25-17, 25-13). In their final match at the Invitational, the Spirits fell to Stevenson in three sets (25-15, 25-10, 25-19).
The Salem College volleyball team lost their first match of the season against Eastern Mennonite University in the EMU Hampton Inn & Sleep Inn Invitational. Salem won the second set and was close in two of the three sets they lost. EMU ended up winning in four sets (24-26, 25-22, 14-25, 25-23). Salem falls to 0-1 on the season, and EMU improves to 1-0.
Salem finished sixth in the voting as they look to replace last season All-Conference winner Christine Tillman. The Spirits recently announced that Tillman would continue with Salem as a new volleyball assistant coach.
Head Coach Amanda Ziemba has announced that Christine Tillman (King, NC) has been hired as the volleyball assistant coach at Salem College for this upcoming season. Tillman was a four-year starter as an outside blocker for the Spirits, and she holds several all-time record at Salem.
