Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team won their season final match last night against Bluefield State (25-13, 25-15, 25-12) to clinch the Great South Regular Season Championship for the first time in team history. 

Salem improved to 8-15 overall and 3-1 in Conference.  Final Conference standings and seeding for the Conference Tournament were decided by the Massey Rating system, and announced this morning. 

Salem celebrated seniors Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC), Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN), and LaSashia Connelly (Morganton, NC) prior to the match. Jones was the GSAC Tournamen MVP for 2012.

The Spirits will return to action this weekend, when they host the Great South tournament for the first time ever. The Spirits will be the #1 seed and earn a first-round bye.
