Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team crushed both Wesleyan and Allen today at home. The Spirits defeated Wesleyan 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16) in the first Great South match for each team. In their 2nd game of the afternoon, Salem defeated Allen (25-8, 25-13, 25-9). Salem improved to 3-9 overall and 1-0 in the GSAC.

In the match against Wesleyan, Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) led the Spirits with an impressive 21 kills and 1 block. Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) finished with 8 kills against Wesleyan. Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) finished with 23 digs and Taylor Rhodes (Jamestown, NC) finished with 13 digs. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the Spirits with 37 set assists. 

Against Allen, Morgan finished with 11 kills and Nixon had 9. Once again, Henderson led the team with 12 digs. Jones finished with 21 set assists in the Allen match. 

Volleyball returns to non-conference action on Monday when they travel to William Peace in Raleigh.
