Volleyball starts strong but falls short at William Peace

Raleigh, NC-The Salem College volleyball team got off to a strong start in non-conference action, but William Peace pulled out a 3-1 win (21-25, 25-8, 25-22, 25-12). Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 12 kills and 2 service aces. Salem falls to 3-10 overall.

Salem had the Pacers on their heels in the first set as they jumped out to an early lead. The Spirits also had a great shot at the third set, but Peace was able to pull the set out.

Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) finished with 12 digs, and Taylor Rhodes (Jamestown, NC) had 11 digs. Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) continued her hot play with 11 kills, and Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) had 36 set assists.

The Spirits return home this weekend when they host Methodist on the 4th.
