Volleyball wins third in a row

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team won their third straight match with a decisive 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-14) victory over Toccoa Falls. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) earned her 1,600th set assist of her impressive career, and she was awarded with the game ball. Salem improves to 6-11 with the win.

Salem jumped out to an early lead and Toccoa Falls was never able to compete with the Spirits. Jones finished with 31 set assists and 1 service ace. 

Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 15 kills and Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) added 9 kills and 9 digs. Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) continued her high rate of digs with 19, while Olivia Newbern (Barco, NC) had 14 digs. Morgan had 3 service aces, and Newbern and Taylor Rhodes (Jamestown, NC) each had 2. 

The Spirits hit the road this weekend as they travel to Virginia to take on Bridgewater and Washington & Lee.
