Winston-Salem, NC-When the NCAA posted Volleyball Individual Statistics on it's website for the first time this week, a familiar name was among them. Junior Libero, Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC), has launched herself into the into the Top 10 Nationally among Division lll volleyball athletes as she carries on her incredible defensive play. 

She moved into the number 10 spot in digs per set, with 181 digs and she is currently averaging 6.03 per set. This past week she averaged 5.37 in 4 matches against tough opponents. 

"Zy is determined to be the best at what she does," says Coach Wall. Henderson, also a Dean's list student, played volleyball last year for the first time. She is also on the Salem Basketball Team.  

In her first year playing Volleyball, she worked her way to a Great South All-Conference Selection.  "It wouldn't surprise me if she ends up in the number 1 spot by the end of the season," Coach Wall stated. "She works hard and smart." 

Henderson said, "I am very excited to see my hard work paying it off it is certain that I wouldn't have reached my level of play today without my coach and teammates pushing me. I am very honored!"

The Salem College Volleyball team continues it's season with a home match against Guilford College tonight at 7:00.
