Volleyball drops close match at Greensboro

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College volleyball team fought back from a 2-1 deficit to take Greensboro College to a fifth set last night. The Pride were able to win the fifth set and the match (25-19, 20-25, 20-25, 25-20, 12-15). Salem falls to 1-4 overall, while Greensboro improves to 2-3.

The Spirits jumped out to an early lead with a commanding 25-19 win in the first set. Greensboro was able to take the next two sets, and then Salem battled back for the fourth set. In a very close decisive fifth set, the Pride were able to hold on for the win.

Kylie Taffer and Hillary McPhatter led Salem with 11 kills each. Zy Henderson had 34 digs and McPhatter added 16. Taylor Rhodes led the Spirits with 24 set assists and 3 service aces.

Salem returns to action on Friday at Meredith at 7:00.
