Rhodes named to EMU All-Tournament Team

Harrisonburg, VA-The Salem College volleyball team fell in two matches today at the Eastern Mennonite Invitational. Taylor Rhodes was selected to the EMU Invite All-Tournament Team for her play. Salem ends the weekend with a 1-3 overall record.

In the morning match, Salem hung tight with the hosts of Eastern Mennonite through the first two sets, but the Royals were able to win 1-3 (24-26, 25-20, 14-25, 14-25). Roslyn Nixon led the Spirits with 10 kills, while Kylie Taffer and Hillary McPhatter each had 8. Zy Henderson led the Spirits with 20 digs, while Rhodes had 19 digs and McPhatter had 14. Rhodes led the Spirits with 19 assists, and McPhatter had 3 service aces.

Salem fell to Goucher in their second game today 0-3 (19-25, 20-25, 23-25). Taffer had 8 kills against Goucher and Nixon had 7 kills. Rhodes had 15 set assists and 14 digs, while Henderson had 23 digs and McPhatter had 14.

The Spirits return to action on September 3rd when they travel down I-40 to take on Greensboro College.
