Volleyball beats rival Agnes Scott

Decatur, GA-The Salem College volleyball team got some revenge on Agnes Scott today by going to their court and beating them 3-2 (25-14, 17-25, 31-29, 19-25, 15-13). "It was the best team effort I have ever seen," said Head Coach Dana Wall. The Spirits won their 4th in a row to move to 5-6 and 2-0 in the Great South, while Agnes Scott falls to 3-8 and 1-1.

Hillary McPhatter had a huge match for Salem with 22 kills and a .229 kill percentage. McPhatter also had 3 service aces and 13 digs. "Hillary owned it," said Coach Wall.

The Spirits dominated the first set, and put the Scotties on their heels. They lost Kylie Taffer to an injury early in the match after she had 4 kills. After dropping the 2nd set, they battled back to win a huge third set 31-29. Zy Henderson had 19 digs and Amber Bass added 18 digs.

The Spirits open up their home schedule on Wednesday when they host Hollins at 7:00.
