Volleyball wins GSAC Tournament!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (11/08/14) -- Salem College Volleyball earns its second Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) Championship in three years. Tournament Most Valuable Player, Hillary McPhatter led the Spirits to victory over Finlandia University with 14 kills on .464 hitting.
 
Salem cruised to victory in three short sets (2518, 25-14, 25-16). First-year Kylie Taffer added nine kills in the win. Roslyn Nixon hit .312 with five kills. Taylor Rhodes had a game-high 30 assists. Libero Zykeya Henderson had a game-high 18 digs. McPhatter added 10. The Spirits amassed 10 total team blocks. Bernisha Master had a piece of six stops.
 
Katelyn Anderson led Finlandia with eight kills. Emma Nelson tallied 18 assists and Anaya Merriweather picked up 11 digs.
 
Salem's GSAC Championship win earns it a spot in the NCAA tournament.
