Dana Wall announces retirement from Salem Volleyball

Winston-Salem, NC-Head Salem College Volleyball Coach, Dana Wall, has announced her retirement from coaching. She spent three seasons at Salem, and won two Great South Regular Season Titles and two GSAC Tournaments. Her teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament twice.

During her first season in 2012, Wall led Salem to their first GSAC Tournament Championship. She also had the first GSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, Chelsea Jones, and the team was the first to go to the NCAA Tournament in school history. They went back to the NCAA Tournament in 2014, and Wall was selected as the Great South Coach of the Year the past two seasons.
"It has been a great pleasure for me to coach these young women," said Wall. "I am most proud of being able to get them all where they wanted to go. Having two GSAC Tournament MVP's, Jones and Hillary McPhatter; a GSAC Player of the Year, Michelle Morgan; a Libero of the Year, Zy Henderson; GSAC Freshman of the Year, Kylie Taffer is my greatest satisfaction. Helping these athletes reach their goals and be recognized for being the talented players they are is what it is all about to me."
Wall is leaving to spend more time with her family. She had the highest winning percentage in Salem College volleyball history. "I'm very involved in bringing high level playing opportunities to young players in our area," Wall said. For the last eight years, she has taken youth team to Europe to play in tournaments against top junior athletes.
Wall's daughter, Brett Billings, is married to 2004 volleyball Olympian, Brook Billings. They are expecting their second child in May. "I can't wait," said Wall.
