Volleyball falls 3-0 to Eastern Mennonite and Catholic

Harrisonburg, VA-The Salem College volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Eastern Mennonite Invitational hosts today and 3-0 to Catholic tonight. Kylie Taffer finished with 10 kills and Mariah Sharon had 9 kills combined in both matches. The Spirits fell to 0-2, while Eastern Mennonite improved to 2-0 and Catholic improved to 3-0.

In the EMU match, Salem improved each set and the final score was 12-25, 21-25, 23-25. Sharon, Taffer, and Morgan Proulx all had 6 kills. Sharon led the team with 14 digs and Taffer had 12. Brandy Bednorz led the team with 19 assists and 2 service aces. 

Catholic defeated the Spirits 12-25, 13-25, 11-25. Taffer and Bernisha Master each had 4 kills. Once again, Sharon led the team with 9 digs. Master had 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists. Bednorz finished with 9 assists against Catholic.

The Spirits will play two more matches at the EMU Invitational tomorrow against Hood and Mary Baldwin.
