Volleyball moves to GSAC semifinals

Decatur, GA-The Salem College volleyball team earned a 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 25-27, 25-20) victory against Mt. Mary to move to the semifinals of the Great South Tournament. Kylie Taffer finished with 18 kills to lead the Spirits. Salem improves to 4-15, while Mt. Mary falls to 3-18. 

The Spirits dominated the first two sets and jumped out to an early lead. Mt. Mary was able to pull a set back after going to a tie-breaker in the third. Salem had no problem taking the fourth set and the match. 

Brandy Bednorz had a strong match with 30 set assists. Mariah Sharon led the team with 20 digs and Julissa Almonte added 14 digs. Hannah Ogle led the Spirits with 2 service aces, and Bernisha Master had 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists.

The Spirits will play the tournament's number one seed from UC Santa Cruz today at 3:00.
