Decatur, GA-The Salem College volleyball team fell in the Great South semifinals to the eventual champions from UC Santa Cruz 3-0 (11-25, 21-25, 8-25). The Spirits conclude the first season under Head Coach Kevin Troup with a 4-16 overall record. They only lose one senior on the young squad.

Mariah Sharon led the Spirits with 4 kills and 8 digs. Playing in her final match, Brandy Bednorz led the Spiritswith 13 set assists. Sharon also had 3 service aces.
