Volleyball falls to Ferrum and Meredith

Raleigh, NC-Salem played two volleyball matches in Raleigh against tough USA South competition and fell 3-1 in both matches. The Spirits took the first set from both Ferrum and Meredith, before conceding the last three sets in each match. Salem is now 6-11 overall and 1-7 in the USA South, while Ferrum is 8-14 and 4-5, and Meredith is 16-2 and 8-0.

Salem started strong against Ferrum as they took the first set 25-21. Ferrum won a tight second set 25-22, before winning the last two by the score of 25-17 each set. Meredith has cruised through the USA South so far, before the Spirits surprised them with a 25-20 first set victory. Meredith took the second and third sets 25-17 and 25-15, before Salem almost surprised them again in the fourth before Meredith hung on for a 25-23 win.

Once again, Hannah Delcamp led the Spirits with 57 set assists. Kylie Taffer had 24 kills and Taylor Moulton added 22. Mariah Sharon had 30 digs to lead the Spirits.

Salem returns to action on Wednesday at Guilford.
