Volleyball sweeps two home matches

Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Salem College Spirits volleyball team picked up their seventh and eighth wins of the season at home against Agnes Scott and Johnson & Wales. Salem defeated Agnes Scott 3-2 (25-23, 11-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13). They defeated Johnson & Wales 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18). The Spirits are now 8-4 overall continuing their best start in school history, while Agnes Scott falls to 3-5 and Johnson & Wales falls to 5-8.

In a come-from-behind five set match over Scotties, Taylor Moulton had a match-high 13 kills and a team third-best 16 digs. Hannah Delcamp amassed a game-high 42 assists with nine digs. Maggie Hawks had a team-high 21 digs.

Against Johnson & Wales, Moulton had 11 kills, while Kylie Taffer had 9. Lauren Holman led the team with 17 set assists and Hannah Delcamp had 12. Hawks led the team with 23 digs.

The Spirits hit the road on Thursday to begin USA South conference play at Methhodist at 7:00.
