Volleyball falls to Meredith and Averett

Danville, VA-The Salem College volleyball team dropped two matches on the road to Meredith and Averett this weekend. Salem lost 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 22-25) to Meredith and 3-1 (19-25, 13-25, 25-22, 13-25) to Averett. Salem is now 4-2 in the USA South and 12-6 overall. They are currently in 4th place in the USA South East Division standings.

In the Meredith match, Kylie Taffer led the Spirits with 10 kills. Kathryn O'Connell had 6 kills. Lauren Holman led the Spirits with 14 set assists, and Maggie Hawks had a team-high 19 digs. Taylor Moulton had the only service ace of the game for Salem.

Madelyn Chappell led the Spirits with 9 kills in the Averett match. O'Connell and Taffer each had 6 kills. Hannah Delcamp had 14 set assists and Holman had 12. Hawks led the team with 26 digs and Moulton had 15 digs. O'Connell led the team with 7 block assists.

The Spirits will host Pfeiffer on Thursday night.
